Sorry Ally!

I just noticed I totally forgot to post Walk America pictures!! Soooo, here they are.

At the refreshment tent, Scott's breakfast of choice: doughnut, and a bug juice

They had this big inflatable slide for the kids

Scott with Griff, the mascot of the Grand Rapids Griffins hockey team- they are affiliated with the Red Wings, trying to sneak up on him. (Scott saw him coming in my sunglasses)

Cool pic, right? :)

Stalker pics of Bill Steffen, our local weatherman. Don't know if anyone remembers, but we had pictures like this last year too. Click here While he was talking he mentioned that the people that were there last year noticed the 30 degree temperature difference. Yep, that is about right. It was about 60 degrees this year, and about 30 last year. So, this year was a lot better. Sooo much better walking in warmer weather.

Getting lined up to walk.

And... we're off!

Had to take this picture, that dog ran around behind me then tried to get to his owner from in front of me, yeah I almost started the walk falling flat on my face after being tripped by a dog.

Some pics of our beautiful scenery. It was at the same spot as last year.

Uh oh... you know what this means.

Right as we got up towards the end, it started POURING rain!

One last wind blown rainy picture as we finish up the race. Even with all the rain there was still a group of volunteers at the end clapping and blowing bubbles when we finished.

Our food stash at the end. This year and last, one of their big sponsors was KFC. This year we had bbq snackers, coleslaw, then Scott got some cheeze kurls. With the snackers, we each grabbed one, then the guy was like "feel free to take some more". Scott certainly took him up on that offer and took like 3 or 4. :) They also had cookies and ice cream sandwiches. Along the trail, it was 5 miles, there were bottled water, fruit snacks and granola bars.

Oooh, thank you for posting these! It looks like you had a great time (and you DO have much better scenery than we have here for our walk. We walk around a giant outdoor mall. LOL!
