The weather is fantastic today!!! Scott and I went and played tennis earlier at about noon. There is a park nearby, we played there. And we suck lol but we had fun! We saw the tennis court back around Christmas when we were driving around looking at Christmas lights, and decided to buy rackets. We just need practice :) And now when it's nice we are going to go play!
We just got back from the mall and Mongolian BBQ. We went to the mall looking for new black shoes for me for work, and actually found some!!! It took many, many different stores, and I still didn't find the type I was looking for, but they'll do-- til I find another pair.
We also went to the bookstore and I got a book called Mistaken Identity. It's written by the parents of Laura Van Rhyn and Whitney Cerak. The girls from Taylor University who were in the car accident in Indiana. One died, the other was in the hospital for 5 weeks. Then they realized, the girl that survived was Whitney, not Laura. The accident happened 2 years ago, the Van Rhyn family lives in Grand Rapids. Thats where the girl that survived was brought, a rehab hospital downtown. The Van Rhyn family looked over her, and stayed at her bedside for weeks before they found out it wasn't Laura, it was Whitney, and Laura actually died in the accident. Whitney's family lives in Gaylord, MI. They had a funeral for their daughter, had a grave site and everything. Went 5 weeks thinking their daughter was dead, and found out she wasn't. It's a horrible, heart breaking story. The families just recently decided to start talking about it. They were on the Today Show on Thursday and Friday, then there was a 2 hour Dateline Friday night that Scott and I watched. I heard they wrote a book, so I decided to go buy it.
After we left the mall we went to Mongolian BBQ, we haven't been there in awhile, it was good! Oh, last night we got food to go from Uccellos. I got a Venetian Chicken Wrap, I asked for no cheese. However, I think the bruschetta mix that was on it had some Parmesan cheese. I saw it when I was about halfway done, and thought for sure I'd get sick, but I didn't. I did hear awhile ago that there are some cheeses that don't have lactose, it's removed during the aging process or something, but whatever the reason- it didn't make me sick!!! Yay!!!
Not much else going on. Scott is actually taking a nap on the couch. Oh I also got a deck of cards from the bookstore that has smoothie recipes on it. So I think I'll take a peak through there. I've been having smoothies for breakfast a lot lately. Here is the recipe of the one I make the most right now:
Breakfast Replacement Smoothie
1/2 c. Grape Nuts cereal
1/2 c. Vanilla soy yogurt
1 c. ice
1 banana
2 c. juice (orange, apple, etc.) I always use oj
Then you Blend
That smoothie is wonderful, I usually make it, and bring it to work. The blender I bought awhile ago came with a to go cup. I drink it at work and I don't feel hungry at all during the morning. Then I usually go to lunch between 12 and 1.
Well, thats all for now. Bye! Enjoy the weather!!! I think we are suppose to get in to the 50s next week!!! Almost time for a pedicure and flip flops!!! :)

Yay for a good weekend!!
Scott and I have had a wonderful weekend!!! He changed his Meijer schedule some so he only works there Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. This is so much better than what he was doing before, teaching then working at Meijer almost everyday of the week. Now on Thursday and Friday, he teaches, and he has Saturdays completely off.
So, Friday we went to a Grand Rapids Rampage game. It's arena football, they play at VanAndel arena. We've been wanting to go to a game, and their season just started last week, but tickets are pretty expensive. Friday they were playing Chicago. Well, Scott told me Friday morning before he went to work that his federal tax money came in. So, he left me his debit card and I went online to see if there were any tickets left. The first thing I see when I get on their website is something saying that the game was sold out. I clicked on the article and it said that because some season ticket holders have mini packages, they can exchange their tickets to games they can't go to for other ones, so it said there may be tickets available Thursday afternoon. This was Friday morning that I was looking, I thought for sure we were out of luck, but I tried anyway. I went on the page to order tickets and it said there were 2 available, in the low section for $30 a piece. Yeah, it's a little steep, but we really wanted to go. So, I bought them. I saw what section they were in, like a corner section, so I wanted to see if there were any seats left, but it said there are no available tickets. I bought the last two!!! We got to the game Friday night and the seats were awesome!! I didn't think we'd like them cause of the angle they were at, but we were very happy with them! We were on the bottom row, right near one of the end zones, the players were standing right in front of us quite a bit! In actual game news, they got their BUTTS KICKED, BIG TIME!! Since we've never seen a game before we don't know if Chicago was really good, or if we were really bad, but it was a blow out! 64-35 :( But, it was so much fun. The energy was great, people were loud and the game was a lot of fun to watch!! We are for sure looking in to going to another game. We also got to see a guy that used to play for Grand Valley, he's on the injured list, but it's still cool to see players we watched at GV moving on to other areas of football.
So that was Friday. Yesterday we lounged around all morning watching Michael Clayton. Then I finally finished my taxes. Scott wrote me a check for $450, so I could actually pay what I owe :( I think it was $374 for federal, then I'm getting like $63 back for state ( just cause I claimed all of our rent), but then I owe $76 for city taxes. Big BOOOOOO! That was quite depressing, but it's done with. I can not wait til that $600 rebate comes in!!! Sorry US government, but it will not be going back to you to help out with the economy. Well, not yet anyway. I think we decided we are each going to keep out $150 for our summer trip we are taking to Mackinac. And if we haven't purchased our glasses by then, we'll buy them too. We are each getting a pair from a website called 39dollarglasses.com. They might not be fantastic, but we would only wear them a few hours a day, so they will do. I actually found that website through another where I buy my contacts. AClens.com. My contacts are WAY cheaper through there than anywhere else. And with my one toric lens, my contacts are EXPENSIVE!!!
Anyway, got sidetracked, back to Saturday. After I finished my taxes we went to Yesterdogs!! It's a little hot dog place in downtown GR. It's quite famous, they have pictures of all sorts of celebrities in there wearing a Yesterdog tshirt. Also, if you've seen American Pie, the hot dog place they hang out at, I think it's called Dog Years, was copied from Yesterdogs. Any hoo, those hot dogs are great! The inside of the building is so cool. It's like decorated in 1940s and 50s decor. They have old ads all over, like for Pepsi and other stuff. Everything in there is old. That and all the booths have wood walls around them, that people carve stuff on, names, etc. Every wood wall you see in there has carvings on it. lol Yeah, great hot dog place! Too funny, I just found their website, I didn't even think they had one http://www.yesterdog.com
Alright, then after the wonderful Yesters, we went to the Grand Valley basketball game. They are hosting the NCAA Division II tournament. Now thats big news, it's the first year they've been good enough to host it. So all the games are at Grand Valley. We just went and watched the Grand Valley vs. St Joe game. We won, and tonight they play Northern Kentucky.
Today I am making corned beef and cabbage in the slow cooker. Neither one of us has ever had it with cabbage, so I told Scott I'd make it once, if we don't like it I won't make it with cabbage anymore. When Scott gets home we are going to take our laundry to the laundry mat, see if it's cheaper than doing our laundry in the building. I HATE having to pay to do our laundry!!! Then we are going to buy a new microwave, ours was shooting some sparks all over.... so we chucked it. I don't think we're going to the game tonight... but who knows, I'll see what Scott wants to do.
In other news, our weather has been BEAUTIFUL!!! Almost all the snow is melted, we've had 40 degree temps and sun for about a week now, a couple days were real close to 50 degrees. And the forecast for next week shows every day with highs over 40!! Spring is on it's way!!!! Woo hoo!! Well, I think thats all. I'll post our Rampage game pics sooner or later.

A big Woo hoo! and then some not so woo hoo.....
I have my ring back!!!! WOO HOO!!!! Scott called Tuesday and they told him it was done, and it was waiting for me when I got home from work. :)
On to the not so woo hoo. Steph I already told you, so this will be a repeat for you. But this is news to Ally. I had my very first run in with the law this past Saturday. At about 11:30 am, there was a knock on the door. I looked in the peep hole, it was a Walker Police Officer. I open the door and here is approximately how the conversation went:
Cop: Are you Samantha?
Me: yes
Cop: Samantha *last name*?
Me: uh... yeah
Cop: you are the owner of the champagne colored Dodge Intrepid in the parking lot
Me: what is going on? what is this all about?
Cop: Well, Samantha the reason I'm here this morning is because the Standale Meijer gas station reported a drive off, and they gave a description of your car, and your exact plate number. Can you explain this?
Me: WHAT? No, I don't know what the heck is going on, I didn't steal any gas!!!
Cop: Well, you can either cooperate or I can just go ahead and impound your car.
Me: What the heck for, I just told you I didn't steal any gas.
That was the most exciting part of the conversation, he then proceeded to ask me where I was Tuesday. Then told me that the gas station said it was a male pumping gas, and there was no one else in the car. Said it happened at about 12:15pm. I told him I had my car, I go on my lunch break. He asked if I have a boyfriend, then if he has a copy of my key. Yes and yes. Where was he? I told them he was teaching in a town about 15 minutes away, I even pulled up his schedule on the subsitute teacher website. He said, well Wyoming isn't that far away, he would have time to do it. I said, that makes no sense at all. Why would he drive his car 15 minutes back to Walker so he can take my car, steal $37 worth of gas, park it again, then take his car back to Wyoming... He said... well that doesn't really make sense. I told him I was going to call Scott, who was just getting out of work by this time. He said where does he work on the weekends, I said the Standale Meijer. Then the cop was like, he'd steal gas from where he works. I said NO he wouldn't. Then he said that they must've been mistaken, it's highly unlikely someone would steal gas from where they work, it'd be too easy to have someone recognize him.
Scott got to the apartment, told him where he was, told him what car he has. Then the cop said it must've been a misunderstanding and he wasn't going to pursue it any further.
Turns out I just happened to be driving right up next to the Meijer gas station at the exact time they noticed that someone drove off without paying. They saw my car, and called the cops and told them it was me. I told the cop that I left Arbys, drove up next to Meijer gas station to see how much gas was, then went straight to the Citgo station, and got $10 worth of gas there. Of course it was a rare time that I paid in cash, and had no proof. I was irritated that they couldn't like look at surveillance cameras....but who knows.
