A quiz.

Ok, this is totally lame and not worth anyone's time, including mine. But I'm bored and I don't think anyone reads my blog anyway... so I'm doing it.

The couple quiz

What are your middle names?
Kimberly and Ross

How long have you been together?
almost 8 1/2 years

How long did you know each other before you started dating?
I don't know a year or so

Who asked whom out?
He asked me, cause I asked him why he hadn't asked yet. lol

How old are each of you?
26 and 26

Whose siblings do you see the most?
I think it might be pretty equal. I have a sis that lives in Kentucky and a sis that lives in Ohio, but he has a sis that lives in Virginia and a brother in the military, currently in South Korea. We also each have a couple of sibs in state, but don't really see anyone that often.

Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple?
lack of $$$$$

Did you go to the same school?
yep

Are you from the same home town?
yes

Who is smarter?
oooohhh.... interesting questions. I'm going to have to say we are each smart at different things. He is smarter at history stuff, obviously and people related stuff, like relationships, he is smarter about. I, however, am certainly smarter on real world stuff- money, responsibility, and anything related to english and grammar.

Who is the most sensitive?
Him

Where do you eat out most as a couple?
Panera

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
We don't drive that far, I guess it would be last summer when we went to St. Ignace.

neither. We've been dating so long, the only exes are from jr. high/begining of high school- no one cares about those exes.

Who has the worst temper?
Oh me- without a doubt.

Who does the cooking?
me. But he does cook a fabulous lasagna, with my fake cheese :) That is something I've loved since I was little and have never attempted to make. When he made it a couple of months ago, that was actually the first time I've had it in YEARS and it was Fabulous!!!

Who is the neat-freak?
I am more than him, but he is close, more just about laundry and dishes, although that might be cause he's running out of something.

Who is more stubborn?
Hmmmm... I don't know, I'll have to ask him his opinion on that one.

Who hogs the bed?
He says I hog the blanket. But I thin he hogs the bed, I get cranky when he sleeps in the middle of the bed so he can be closer, but it makes me feel like I'll roll of the side in the middle of the night, so I have to push him back the other way.

Who wakes up earlier?
Most of the time he does

Where was your first date?
Blair Witch 2 and Taco Bell

Who is more jealous?
me :(

How long did it take to get serious?
lol that was too long ago, I don't remember.

Who eats more?
he does.

Who does the laundry?
he does, but I help hang stuff up :)

Who's better with the computer?
Me.

Who drives when you are together?
Depends on where we are going and who has more gas. Most of the time we'll take my car cause, well it's a better car, that and he has to drive during the week, I don't. But I'm not a big fan of the highway so if it requires taking the highway in downtown GR, I'll make him drive, even if it's in my car. I don't drive his car though, it's too slow.

The death of my keyboard, cat sitting and other news

I don't know what happened to my keyboard. I'm finally able to type a blog cause I just went to WalMart and spent $20 on a new one. It all started Wednesday. My keyboard was looking dirty. Crumbs under the keys, etc. So I decided to take each of the keys off, soak the keys in hot water and use a q-tip to clean the keyboard itself. I didn't dump it in water or anything like that. Actually after I put it all back together I used the keyboard, everything was fine. Then the next morning it started acting squirrely. Scott said he was trying to type something in and it was like a key was jammed, it just kept typing the same thing. Then, it stopped working all together. I woke up, went to check my email and it wasn't working. But it had a light on like the num lock key was pushed down. But it wouldn't work at all. When I got to work I looked it up and found some stuff to try, but nothing worked. We unplugged it from the computer, re-started the computer, everything, but it just wouldn't work. I ended up finding an on-screen keyboard in my settings, then you had to use the mouse and click on letters on the on-sreen keyboard. It was a pain in the ass but got us by for a couple days and allowed us to check our email, bank accounts, etc. I never realized how reliant we are on the computer and how frustrating it was to be missing one little part of it, like the keyboard. Well, I didn't want to, but I went to WalMart today and bought a new keyboard. I hate it. It's huge. My other keyboard was the one that came with my computer, it was little, I liked it. I keep screwing up my typing on this one. I think I'll keep the old one for awhile, plug it in at work, see what happens. I am certainly keeping the receipt for this one, cause if someone can get the other one working, I'm returning this monstrous ugly one.

In other news, Scott and I are cat/house sitting. The account at work, Jane, left Thursday to visit her daughter in Houston, and she'll be gone til Wednesday. She has 2 cats, so I promised we'd go over there and make sure they have food and water, bring in their mail and play with the cats and keep them company. We actually just got back from running some errands, we are going to get some stuff around then head over there. We'll probably hang out over there til like 7 or 8 tonight.

We paid our deposit on the caterer today. That was one of the errands, pay the deposit and go to another tasting. They have them like once a month or so. I got to taste the escalloped apples and pecans today. It was delish. Next week we have another bridal show to go to. Our caterer told us about it, she said it's for people on a budget for their wedding, it won't have crazy outrageous expensive vendors. We will be looking for a florist, an officiant and somewhere to get our cake done.

Work had been a bit stressful for awhile, I think it was like the first 2 weeks of March. I think it was March 2 or 3 a girl there quit. Out of the blue. Handed the boss a note, that said I quit while he was talking to someone else and then left. That was when the shit hit the fan and it just keep hitting it the rest of the week. That girl was not a sales person, she was one of 6 support staff that work there, that includes me. She worked in contracting, promo and email. Now, there is only one lady, Sandy, in there doing everything. I was in there every now and then during the first week she left, but then midway through that week I got yelled at for not doing my job. So, I stopped helping. They hired a girl that started the 9th, but she was dumb and pretty useless. Then on the 16th, her 8th day of work, she told our boss that she would only be able to come in for a few hours for the next week or so, cause a friend was scheduled for surgery and she had to help out. So that was the end of her. They hired her for full time, not part time. And with it not even being family, and she didn't say anything about it when she was hired... yeah that wasn't going to work.

The girl that quit, that started all this mess, is actually the only one of the support staff that is the same age as I am. We didn't really get a long to well. I used to work in the same office as her til I was moved down to the other side of the building. I HATED working in the same room as her, she's not really a good worker at all. She's lazy, rude and she really loved her texting. And now I really see the level of her disrespect for everyone there. I'm sorry but you just don't quit a job, it's stupid. She was hired in the same time as I was so she was there for almost 3 years, whats a 2 weeks notice??? Anyway, I think the company is better off. It will just take some time to get everything back in order. They have another new girl starting Monday. Hopefully she will work out better.

Scott and I went to the zoo last Sunday, the weather was gorgeous!!! This weekend it's sunny, but chilly- there was snow on the ground this morning. But, earlier in the week, we noticed birds bringing grass into our grill again. For anyone who doesn't remember, last spring Scott and I were constantly having to monitor our grill because there were birds trying to nest in there, and we were using it like once a week, sometimes more! They kept bringing grass in the grill, we kept taking it out, then we come back and there would be even more. They put soooo much in there. Must've been hard work for them, but I kept telling Scott, we can NOT let them lay eggs in our grill. They were these big black birds, like a crow. I saw one of them once, it was real big, certainly looked like it waws ready to lay eggs. Then we check our grill one time last spring after being gone for the weekend, and there was an egg in our grill. We went back later and looked and it was gone, they probably knew we had been there and found somewhere safer. But now they are trying again. Oh and in case you are wondering, we do not leave our grill open, there is a slot in the back for the vent, we think they are getting in there.

Well I guess thats all for now. Monday and Tuesday should be pretty quiet at work, Jane will still be gone, til Wednesday and the manager, Bob, is going out of town til Thursday. The owners are still in Florida til the second week of April, so basically, I'm the only one on that side of the building. Next weekend we have the bridal show, then a comedy show. A guy that has a touring comedy show for Kramer is playing a show downtown, he said he'd compensate money for tickets for all Kramer people. I've been wanting to see him do a show for awhile, it should be fun!

Adios

Davids Bridal review

Ok, so like I posted on my facebook- Davids Bridal appt. = epic failure. Perhaps it was my fault for scheduling an appt. so late. My appt. was at 8 pm, they closed at 9 pm. But here is a play by play of how my appt. went.

Walked in about 2 minutes early. Happened to walk in at the same time as someone else. Davids Bridal worker says "Oh hi hon, you are here for your appt. right?" Thinking she was talking to me, I say yes and start walking forward only for the worker to jump up and hug the other girl. I guess they knew each other. So she started helping that girl. I stood there. No one said anything, no one walked over to me, nothing. Finally the worker at the front walked away with the other girl. So, I started browsing through dresses. When I saw another worker come toward the front I walked up and said I'm here for my 8:00 appt. From the time I walked in until there was an available worker was probably close to 10 minutes. The girl looked me up and told the other lady, who came back. They page a consultant. When the consultant- "Mo" comes up, the original lady says "well you ARE late, but we can still have Mo help you." I said "actually I'm not, I've been here, but no one was up here to help." She said "yeah, well I guess you can just go with Mo now." LOL yeah- ok.

So, Mo says what kind of dresses do you want? I told her I'm looking for something with lighter fabric, shorter- no train, for a beach wedding. She talks to me about a couple of the dresses. I glance at price tags- $400, $500, $600! I said, these are the prices I would get them for? She says yep, I mention something about the $99 sale they always seem to be running, she mumbles something, I assume it was just for select dresses, none of which are plus size. Turns out they only have a handful of my size in the store and they are NOT really for beach weddings at all. She shows me other dresses that would work, but they are special order only, and once you order it, it's yours. You can't order it, decide it doesn't fit the way you like and give it back.

She tells me to pick out a few, asks me my bra size and says she has to help another bride, she'll be back. As I'm looking through the dresses I notice that a LOT of them have make up all over the neckline, I mean I know they are samples to try on, but it grosed me out. Yuck, but I pick out 3, just for the heck of it. One was actually a possibility, it was light flowy fabric, shorter in the front and about floor length in the back. Then I wait. About 10 minutes later I start looking around for Mo. When she comes back she leads me to the dressing rooms. All of them are filled with dresses, etc. So she takes the dresses out of one, there were still bras, slips, etc. all over the floor. (Like I said before, probably my fault for scheduling such a late appt.) Then Mo realizes she never got the bra, so she went and got one, I go to put it on, yeah the tag says its the same size I was wearing, but it was atleast a size too small. I tell Mo, she grabs another. Then I put the first dress on.

The first dress was halter, lighter fabric, but was long. I stand outside the dressing room, turns out the dresses Mo claimed ran true to size were also not even close to fitting. Whatever, I can get an idea of how it would look. Mo tells me the dress is gorgeous. "It really slims me, and you can hardly see my stomach" Right.... she asks me what I think, I tell her- it's not really what I was looking for. Too poofy, not casual enough. So I go to change to the next one. Mo tells me she'll hand me the other one. So I go in and get out of the first dress. And wait. Mo is helping another bride. And I wait. She is trying to convince the other bride to buy her dress today. Told her if she doesn't they can't guarantee it will still be there. Says it will probably be gone, or could be discontinued, then they can't help her. They wouldn't be able to order it, and her dream dress would be gone. Ack! Just what I was hoping not to hear. But atleast she wasn't saying it to me.

She comes back to my dressing room, I hand her the first dress and she says "Oh this is your favorite, right? Since it's your favorite, we like to keep it in the dressing room with you while you try on the others." I said "Favorite, you mean the ONLY dress I've tried on?" She hands me the second dress. This is the one that is short in the front, floor length in the back. I walk out of the dressing room, Mo is gone. So I wait. And wait. And wait. I can hear her talking, she's talking to another worker about what a disaster the store is and how it's going to take forever to get out of there. After standing out there looking like a fool for probably about 5 minutes, I grab the third dress and change. The second dress was ok, wasn't my size so it was too tight in all the wrong spots, but I really liked the shorter length.

The third dress was the same size as the other ones, but appeared to fit better. It was really long though. It was an off-white color with a lacy kinda overlay to it. I can't tell if it's the one in the picture, but it's close if its not. I come out, wait a bit then Mo walks over. "So how do you like the second one?" I tell her this is actually the third one, the second one clearly didn't fit me right, but I liked the length. She asks about the one I was wearing, I said it feels to much like a nightgown. She agrees, then tells me how great the first one was. I tell her about this one that I like that would work for my wedding, but they don't have in the store in my size, it's one of the special orders. She says "Oh no, that wouldn't look very good on you at all, it's not meant for people of your size." Oh. ok. Then she asks if I want to make another appointment in a week or two to try the first one again. I lie and say I'm busy. I tell her this is my first time trying on dresses, and I think I'll look around at other shops. She says "Ok, but just so you know, it's highly unlikely you are going to find anything in your size. People just don't carry dresses that big." Then asks about mid-March. I tell her my sis is coming up and we are going to Lansing. She says Oh no you should definately bring her here. I say, No we are going to Lansing. She tells me to check and see if there is a Davids in Lansing. I smile and say ok. Then get changed.

As I'm walking to the door, Mo walks up and gives me her card. Says she had a great time and proceeds to give me a hug. I try my hardest not to RUN out the door.

The end.
